The seventh grade Flyers Team at Ferguson Middle School recently presented the Humane Society with a check for $528.  Beginning in December, the students started a project called "Canes for Caring" and sold candy canes with notes attached beginning with "I care" to send to classmates on the team, faculty and staff.  This project was to demonstrate, through their actions, their understanding of the pillars of character of caring and fairness.  The students selected the Humane Society of Greene County as the recipient of this generous gift, for which we are most grateful.

We are now offering an addition to our regular low cost spay/neuter program!   It is specifically for cats who live outdoors in an effort to help them maintain the best quality of life by not reproducing into uncontrolled numbers!  The cost is only $15.00 for a male cat and $20.00 for a female!  So far we have altered over 600 cats through this program.  If you are a caretaker of stray, feral (domestic animals gone wild), barn, or neighborhood cats, or know of anyone who is, please contact us for more details!  We also have humane traps and carriers available to loan for your convenience.  Don't forget, this is an ADDITIONAL program!  Our regular service for dogs and cats is always ongoing.
