Volunteering is the heart of our organization.  We have a very dedicated group of volunteers who put their expertise to work.  If you are interested in helping out a good cause, please contact us.  Since we do not have a facility to maintain, most of our positions are administrative in nature.  The meetings are held in our Xenia office once a month on the 2nd Tuesday of the month at 7:00 p.m. The following are some areas that you can volunteer for. 

 

Office help –  We maintain office hours three days per week.  During this time we need a volunteer to meet with spay/neuter clients and answer the telephone.

 

Newsletter – you can assist in maintaining and gathering information for our quarterly newsletter. One of our goals is to make the newsletter self supporting by providing advertisements from area businesses.

 

Webpage - you can assist the webmaster in keeping the website up-to-date and insuring quality of information provided to the public.

 

Fundraising – we are always in need of suggestions for fundraisers and if you have the ideas and drive to help in this area, please volunteer!

 

Education – we currently supply local area schools with the KIND newsletter and are always looking for ways to expand our education program.  We sometimes need volunteers to go to the area schools to promote animal welfare when requested.

 

Livestock Inspector – for those who have experience with livestock we sometime need experienced people to assist the HSGC Livestock Humane Agent. 

Livestock Fosters -  we never know when a temporary foster home will be needed for an animal that has been placed in our custody.  If you are interested and have the facilities to house livestock, please contact us so we can do a foster home inspection.
